to Wakulla 20 Feb
I left around 8 with Pat and JC. The temp was pretty good, light variable winds. Very flat terrain, but swampy looking. Stopped at a little gas station for a while and Bill and Wendell caught up after shopping for tonight's dinner. Eric went by a bit later. We all stopped at a little restaurant for some food. It was a nice casual ride. We got to the motel a bit earlier than we could get into the rooms.
Dinner was nice which was chili.
We are all a little worried as tomorrow it will be around freezing when we start and it will be 86 miles, so we can not wait for it to warm up. It will warm up gradually and waiting won't help much anyway. I will be wearing much of the clothing I have with me. Tights, vest, jackets, neck gaiters, gloves, arm and knee warmers, etc. I wish I had some warm mittens.
I will report tomorrow on how it went,
Some birds seen or heard so far that I haven't reported. Eastern Bluebird, Eastern Meadowlark, Cattle Egret, Killdeer, Am Kestrel, Cooper's Hawk, Red Shouldered Hawk, Brown Pelican, Pine Warbler.
