To Van Horn 25
Another cold morning. I was expected to get up early and get breakfast items out but failed and slept too late to do it. Was it in the 30"s?
We were the last ones to get going at a bit after 8. Fortunately there was a nice tailwind that blew us to Valentine. We got water and dropped off clothes with the vehicle. More tailwind after that and averaged 17 MPH. So anyway, the tailwind, mostly downhill ride and fairly good pavement (in the traffic lane) made for a fabulous ride.
The movie Giant was filmed near Marfa decades ago and they are still working the tie-in.
Bird Talk: The Chihuahuan Meadowlark was split off from the Western and we were in an area where the Chihuahuan was much more likely, I.e. The Chihuahuan Desert, so I assume it was a life bird for me. YES! Chihuahuan Ravens are here too.
This campground is very dusty and not much for vegetation.
Tomorrow we will ride on I-10 which will be interesting.
Today's ride: 74 miles (119 km)
Total: 2,076 miles (3,341 km)
