To Simmesport 3 march
Another cool night. I had my last breakfast/lunch duty for a while. We expected similar weather to yesterday, so I wore the same combination of clothing. The ride was an hour shorter than yesterday at 59 miles and we got a later start. Some busy roads at first, mostly with shoulders.
We crossed the Mississippi on the John James Audubon bridge and the control structure at Atchafalaya. Poor Bill had another flat and the valve core wouldn't stay in so it was a time consuming project.

It never warmed up really while we were riding topping out in the low 50's. Later we had a long ride along the levee of the atchafalaya I think. Traffic was low there. We had a little break at a church on that section.
Mostly tail winds and cool weather kept us moving along and we were in by 1:30. Tonight is our first stay at a church. There is plenty of room for us and a lot of toilets, which we have not had for a while.
Loretta asked about loose dogs. There was a stretch of about a mile where 11 dogs came into the road. I didn't consider any of them a threat, but they might have been confused with 3 or 4 of us to choose from.
Most gas station convenience stores have Hunt Bros Pizza which I hear is not very good.
Finally, the real news. Due to the high likelihood of very bad weather tomorrow, we will not ride tomorrow, but stay here in Simmesport. We had a day off scheduled for Friday, so only 3 nights had to be changed. We will then have a longer run without a break after tomorrow.
There may not be a post tomorrow as there is little to do here.
Today's ride: 59 miles (95 km)
Total: 938 miles (1,510 km)
