to Silver City area 31
another cold morning in the 30's. There is a pattern here. I started with too much clothing and too little food, but no worries. It was a shorter ride at 19 miles, but also 1800 ft of ascent. There was an old open pit copper mine you could view which was very wide and deep.
we got to the KOA quite early. The vehicle showed up not much later. Very strong winds are forecast for tomorrow a rest day. The leaders agreed to get cabins for us versus leaving our tents up in the wind.
we were in early enough that bike maintenance was on the schedule for some and others will get there tomorrow.
Dog talk- not much today, but the previous days had some other riders in crazy situations.
Bird Talk- this campground had a nice mix of new birds for the trip including Crissal Thrasher, Canyon Towhee, Bushtit, Spotted Towhee and Ladder Backed Woodpecker which I had heard earlier but not seen very well.
