to Silsbee

It was a hard day for me today.  Things were foggy and dewy this morning.  Then we were told that the GPS file we had for today was completely wrong. I had no success at trying to get the revised route to my Wahoo GPS and was using the printed map instead.

I could have stayed with some people who had the route but there was talk of rain in the early afternoon. I wanted to hurry along to the end in case there was rain. It was not the best combination, with using a system I had no recent history using.  And of course, the analog map didn't end at our actual campground. It just took us to the city

As it turned out, there was just patches of drizzle during the day.  Everyone was able to get to the end without getting soaked.

You may want to skip this paragraph.  At mile 10 or thereabouts, a dog came out to chase me and came from the other side of the road. A car was passing me at the same time. It tried to avoid the dog, without success and the dog was struck.

I was the first one in after speeding along the whole route, until the end when I didn't know where to go.  The campground is nice, there is a well appointed clubhouse and laundry and showers.

Today's ride: 75 miles (121 km)
Total: 1,175 miles (1,891 km)

Jeremy ZornsSounds like it could've been ugly with that dog. I'm glad the CAR struck the dog instead of you striking it or the dog biting you. Or the car swerving to avoid the dog an hitting you.
It sounds like there's an epidemic of loose dogs down there. Do southerners just not care about them as much?
