TO San Diego 14
the last day of cycling Ocean Beach
We were expecting it to be in the 50's again and it was. The campgrounds were quite attractive, but the bathroom/ shower was in quite poor shape.

We were heading downhill and it was a relatively short 42 mile day, so we were on the later schedule and left at 8 or so. Some nice trails and bike lanes much of the way. A beautiful gorge along the way at Mission Trails Regional Park. Spotted Towhee again. There was a long steep descent at first which was fun and easy. Then I just wanted it to be over.. The last few miles had strong headwinds off the ocean. Compared to the arid and semi-arid geography we had seen, it is verdant here.

We regrouped at the beach and took some pics. Then off to a bike shop to leave bikes or get boxes for bikes. There was some mixup there and we finally got what we needed.
Five of us are at Samesun Ocean Hostel and four of us are boxing up bikes and one was done at the shop. Three will go on planes.
Seven riders and one rider's wife and son went to dinner down the street.
Tired now. I will see about a wrapup in the next few days.
