to Las Cruces area NM 28
⁸photos from yesterday
It was nice to have a hotel even if it was a Motel 6. I'm not sure if my keycard worked but it didn't matter. We started a bit after 8 and it was alright as it was not far to our destination and the winds were light at first.
We got on a nice bike trail along the Rio Grande and then turned west again and into New Mexico. Many pecan trees along the way, mostly well-paved roads and a shoulder or low traffic. It was a great day of cycling.
We should have stopped a bit in Mesilla which seemed like a nice little place.
The KOA campground is really nice. Everything seems to be in tiptop shape. Various kitchens and great bathrooms. One of the nicest campgrounds we have been to.
It is different in some ways without Bill who is now back home.
My front light, which stopped working in Austin, started working again today when I went to turn it on. I don't know why I did not throw it away, but I'm glad I didn't.
Don't expect anything tomorrow. We will be nowhere
Today's ride: 44 miles (71 km)
Total: 2,260 miles (3,637 km)
