To Franklinton 1 Mar
Somewhat cool this morning. Two people chose not to ride today as they had health/physical situations. We finally got to the type of riding I expected from the start. Quiet roads with little traffic. It got a little more rolling and there was definitely a headwind. Definitely a nice day of cycling.
Most of us were glad to be away from the busy roads along the gulf. To me, the benefit of the views was outweighed by the unbenefit of the traffic.
The interesting thing is that we are staying at the Police Dept in Franklinton. and furthermore, I stayed here 10 years ago when traveling the other way.
We were able to cook and shower, etc in the building.
Bennie stopped at one of the few little stores and talked to the owner and he donated some jambalaya to us.
Today's ride: 64 miles (103 km)
Total: 806 miles (1,297 km)
