To Chicot State Park 5 March

Yesterday morning, some people showed up in a camper and looking to stay at the church. It was a husband and wife and three children who were cycling and the husband's father who was driving. The children didn't cycle yesterday.  They started two days after us and caught up. They hope to finish a bit before us as well.

I was able to sit in front of the office and get internet.  I got my federal income tax done but not the state. Other days off I went to a town and wandered around,  so this was a chance to recover.

Yesterday , when we were checking the weather, we saw the forecast of a strong northwest wind and we were heading west into it.

Indeed, the first section was on LA 1 and there was no protection from the wind and we went noticeably slower. Much of the first 40 miles went into the wind and was a struggle. The last bit was most South and much easier pedaling.  Some of the ride was on nice quiet roads, green grass. A nice ride which would have been better with a nicer wind.

Chicot State Park does not seem to have wifi.

Time for appetizers.

Today's ride: 58 miles (93 km)
Total: 996 miles (1,603 km)
