We slept in today on the rest day as it was cold and windy.  I got some clothes washed and swapped out my chain.  Not many birds at the KOA.  

Due to the wind, we chose not to see the cliff dwellings. I was disappointed, but understood.

I remembered that there was a creek with trails alongside it in Silver City. I went with the group to town.  I had 13 species, including Pine Siskin, Painted Redstart,  Black Phoebe, RC Kinglet, WB Nuthatch and !Life Bird! Mexican Duck!  I had a nice sandwich in town.

At the KOA it was windy, we ate early and had hours to kill.

It is not supposed to be quite as windy tomorrow, but still plenty cold. Winds build through the day and an earlier start helps. However, it is colder then.

We cross the continental Divide tomorrow.
