day 3 to Panora
It was not only cold and windy- rain was also forecast. Chuck asked me if I would start out and see what happened. No one else planned to ride. Our organizers planned to rent a UHaul to carry bikes and gear and most of the riders would go in the support vehicle. We had gotten only about 6 miles when it started to get damp and we had heard there was rain ahead of us, so we went back. Making the transition to the support vehicle to carry people instead of gear is time-consuming. Ken and Nancy , the organizers are busy all day getting the truck, rearranging and then rearranging again and returning the truck.
The group stopped at a Mexican restaurant for Cinco de Mayo for lunch and then on to Panora on Lake Panorama home of a National Golf Course.
Today's ride: 12 miles (19 km)
Total: 105 miles (169 km)
