We said Tschüss to our Munich flat. If all goes as planned we will be back at Easter.

Then easy ride to train station where we finally can use our deep understanding of all the access points and levels — we bike right to our train.

Love Munich Hauptbahnhof. Look up at the hinged glass.

Speedy easy train to Innsbruck. Usual center city confusion until we ride downhill and hit the River Inn. Glorious ride up river with mountains on either side.

So different than Munich in so many ways… river color, bike etiquette, topography.

Innsbruck has an unsurprising sporty edge. Delighted to find Altstadt so intact and medieval in the center. Low season here and streets are happily busy in a languid way.

We had deliberately planned a day that was very low stress and it worked. The background drama of Ukraine never disappears. We feel lucky in so many ways.
