I left at 6 am, hoping to make it Cantaviña before it got too dark. This leg is the prettiest part of the route, through the Valle de los Cirrios.
I carried extra water, but managed to stay hydrated and fed at a couple of conveniently placed loncherías. My destination was the rather nice hotel in Cantaviña, with bar and restaurant attached. I got in about an hour after sunset, very pleased with myself.
I took too many pictures, trying to review and select what to include here was a real chore that deserved more care than I gave it.
I started the day with Nutella sandwiches, stopped here for a proper breakfast after 25 miles of climbing. I spent about an hour on this break, using the unexpected free WiFi provided as part of a government program. Damn socialists
I forgot to clip my hat and dropped my bike while turning around after it blew off. I have a spare mirror, but I’m keeping this one as a reminder to not be complacent
