It was a long and tiring 28 hours from San Salvador to San Cristobal de las Casas. But now I’m here where the temperatures are in the 70’s and feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. But I’ll be headed into the heat again soon. I’m heading off to Playa del Carmen to meet an old friend from college who happens to be vacationing in the Yucatán.

The San Salvador bus station is in the posh Zona Rosa

And the bus to Guatemala was on a whole other level. Such a comfortable ride!

The ride out of Guatemala City was slow and in the pouring rain

Crossed into Mexico around 10, caught the midnight bus to San Cristobal

Nothing has changed for the Venezuelans living at the Tuxtla Gutiérrez bus terminal
