6/4 to Greenville
No one has had much time to get used to hot weather. Today was expected to get into the mid 80's. We agreed to start somewhat early and not stop for lunch. we then had lunch at the restaurant attached to the hotel. It was a sweet ride through some deep woods on a trail and through some farm country. There were some apple orchards with trees that were flat for easy picking.
Birds heard today that I don't think I have mentioned were Wood Thrush, Eastern Phoebe, Field Sparrow, Black capped Chickadee.
Yesterday I mentioned that my odometer was not reading. There are two pickups, one for pedal cadence and one for the wheel for speed and distance. I was able to make the pedal cadence read for the wheel and I am now doing ok.
Greenville is a cute old town, some nice brick buildings.
Tomorrow is supposed to rain. We don't know how much or when for sure. Most of us will ride as far as we can before the rain. If it is spotty we can try to continue. It is going to be a bit uncertain.
