6/15 to Niagara
We headed up the Welland Canal Trail or whatever it was called. The Niagara River and The Welland flow north, which is weird. There was one 180 degree turn which was hard to find. We managed to be at one of the locks when one of the big Great Lakes ships was going through. The ships are made to be the maximum width of the locks and near the full length. The ships don't usually leave the Great Lakes. The Puna was 190 meters long, about two football fields. It didn't seem as if there was even a foot on each side in the lock. There was a little museum near the lock.

We got to Lake Ontario today.
There was an Ultramarathon going on with distances up to 50 miles. There was a bit too much traffic on the Niagara River Trail for me. It was twisty and up and down and had many walkers and bicyclists.
Niagara is a big time tourist town with Ripley's and Toussaud's Wax and go.karts and all kinds of things to spend money on.
Three people have joined us making 12. On Monday, 3 more will join in Buffalo.
Today's ride: 43 miles (69 km)
Total: 607 miles (977 km)
