6/14 to Welland
A nice breakfast at the B&B. The owners are getting old and may not continue to run the place. It was a very nice breakfast, fruit, eggs, toast, fancy cheese.
We paralleled the Grand River down to Lake Erie in Dunnville(?) and then parallel to Lake Erie to the Welland Canal. This canal allow ships to bypass the Niagara Falls getting between Erie and Ontario. There were 7 directions for the first 35 miles and 23 instructions for the last 13 miles. This took us through various towns along the canal on a paved trail. It was another fabulous ride and on a lovely day. I went the whole day without jacket or vest.

I keep thinking I will run out of new birds I can recognize without binoculars, but it hasn't happened yet. Today there were a couple Double Crested Cormorants.
I think the other participants have all ridden much of this route through Ontario in the past. Nancy has been here several times. Just one more full day of biking in Ontario.
Today's ride: 48 miles (77 km)
Total: 564 miles (908 km)
