In the morning, Louise called 811 (a non-emergency health hotline), and described her plight. After a few pointed questions, they told her to go to the emergency department at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH). Apparently a week without peeing is not considered to be a trivial health issue. And that, dear reader, is how Louise ended up at RIH for three days, hooked up to a dialysis machine every day.
