RT 66 Day 5-Wind at our Backs

Fast (for us) 51 mile ride from Barstow to Ludlow, CA. Great to have the wind at our backs. After a few miles on I-40, smooth pavement on 66. Overall, best and easiest ride of the trip so far.

The Bagdad Cafe, made famous from the 1987 movie of the same name, was a fun and funky stop.

Nice to finally be out on lonely stretches of 66. Very few cars. This is the Pisgah Crater, site of a volcanic cylinder core.

Home sweet home. Tomorrow we’re off to Amboy and some rough riding and camping. There are several bridges out on the road ahead but we think we can get through. Very few services between here and Needles, CA.
