RT 66 Day 17-Dust in the Wind

Gallup’s El Rancho hotel was a fine experience, and not too expensive. The fire this morning was nice and toasty, especially as it was cold with gale force winds outside.

Today’s ride was only 45 miles, but due to the screaming 30 mph winds, and gusts 50+ (not exaggerating), today’s ride was as hard as any we’ve ever done.

3,000 ft of climbing did not help, especially as we were headed S into the mighty SW winds.

Best left turn ever. Now we were flying to our destination of Ramah, NM, and our warm & cozy AirBnB.

Last but not least, another flat tire. We’re down to one spare tube. We will restock when we can. Bike shops are few and far between.
