Day 5 - Sooke to Victoria: Down the Galloping Goose Trail
Having ridden the Goose a couple of years ago, we knew that this day would be a wonderful, beautiful ride, so we were not in a big hurry. We got up at 6 again and after a leisurely breakfast in camp we left at 8:15.

The day was full of just beautiful scenery, great trail riding and no traffic until we hit Victoria, several hours later. We took our time and just enjoyed this lovely day to be on our bikes - no stress! For anyone who has never come out this way, we highly recommend you do this ride!
After a very enjoyable ride, we arrived at our destination for the night, the James Bay Inn. This is a great little out of the way hotel in Victoria. Not too far from town, so you can go for a stroll, but on a quiet street. And best of all, they have a special spot for bikes in their locked garage. Our babies had a good night's rest and so did we! Some promised Nachos, beer and a few sporting events to watch and we were lights out by 8:30!!
Day 5 stats: Distance 52 km; total riding time 3 1/2 hours; total time 6 hours; avg speed 14 km/hr; top speed 40 km/hr
Today's ride: 52 km (32 miles)
Total: 273 km (170 miles)
