The Foix Chateau: A photo gallery
photos from our visit to Foix Chateau. Three things of note: I'm feeling steadily better all day. And it was very encouraging that I had the strength to climb up to the chateau and up the two of its towers that are open to visitors; it makes a great visit - it's a most unusual structure, and gives a fine overview of the town and surrounding hills; and by coincidence we've arrived at a special time to visit. There's a medieval fair of some sort going on, complete with brutal-looking competition between armored knights. The duals have the feeling of professional wrestling - people cheering for their favorites and booing the enemy; and questionable or outright foul behavior by the contestants. Great fun.
