Four Days - 9/25 - 9/28/2023
On Monday, 9/25, we left Sunriver Resort and send good-bye to family. We did Wordle along the drive of 754 miles to Canyon Village in Yellowstone National Park. Our drive took us through Idaho, small portion of Montana and Wyoming.
Woke-up Tuesday morning bleary-eyed and headed out for a wilderness tour at 7am. Wow! The wild-ness in Yellowstone is awe inspiring. We had perfectly clear skies with a cold morning that warmed up nicely to 72 degrees by late afternoon. On our first day watching wildlife we observed bison (or buffalo?), pronghorns, a female grizzly bear with 2 cubs, coyotes, a wolf, elk, mule deer and an osprey nest.
We hiked along Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and came upon the Upper and Lower Falls - the sound, volume and beauty of the falls took us by surprise. After dinner at the historic Yellowstone Hotel overlooking Lake Yellowstone, we stopped and walked among the mud and dragon geysers.
