Vinh
It was great to wake up feeling like a human being again this morning. After a quick breakfast of mostly fruit we were on the road soon after six thirty.
We were stuck on the QL1A the whole way today. Busier than the last few days, it was still stress free, if not quiet, riding. It was pretty hot and we stopped every ten kays or so to drink a Revive or two. I'm clearly feeling better because, after catching whiffs of the aromas emanating from the numerous little phở bò stalls we past, I had to stop and have a bowl of my own.

Vinh has a population of almost six hundred thousand and it is quite a contrast to the gritty towns we have passed through since leaving Hà Nội. We're spending tonight at a slightly better quality hotel now that we are in a big city. It is right on the old QL1A as it passes through the city and, with breakfast available at six o'clock, we're well positioned for an early exit tomorrow morning.
Next town down the road is Hà Tĩnh. We use Google Maps a lot to case out joints in which to spend the night but sometimes things are lost in translation when reading reviews. The following is from a review of a possible hotel for tomorrow night:
A dish called bufffe.
Bathroom soaking tub ok.
Beautiful original location.
I chose Sailing to stay for more days, at least the beef pho, chicken, and beef noodle soup for breakfast is of better quality, but this side has a little bit of each fruit and vegetable which is better for a long business trip. Sailing, brown coffee mixed with film is better.
I'm not sure if we'll stay there.
Today's ride: 64 km (40 miles)
Total: 428 km (266 miles)
