The sun was just rising as we headed out today.  After eleven kilometers on the 21 we turned onto some quiet country roads for the rest of the way.  Initially it was pleasantly cool but the temperature soon started heading into the mid thirties.  We stopped a number of times to bird but eventually it got hot and all we wanted to do was get to somewhere with air-conditioning.

It took a few goes to find accomodation in Tha Rong, eventually finding a rather crappy wooden hut at a "resort" in the middle of the town.  Tha Rong is the old name dating back to the heyday  of Si Thep and the district is now known as Michigan Buri.

It is a just a short ride down to Si Thep tomorrow.  Accommodation there is also likely to be less than ideal but we feel we need to visit this historic part of Thailand.
