Lam Narai
Our route today took us through small villages, rice paddies and fields of sugarcane. Apart from the last few kilometers it was very quiet and we had the chance to talk while cycling which would have been impossible if we had taken the more direct route down the busy 21.

Lam Narai is a less than attractive town, stretched out along highway 205 at its junction with the 21. However it is here that we should be able to catch a train to Bangkok from where we plan to continue by train to Petchaburi at the top of the peninsula.

The train to Bangkok only leaves Lam Narai at twenty past one tomorrow afternoon so we have a room at an old and large hotel where we can stay out of the heat (it has been very hot and humid today). The air-conditioned carriage on Train 76 is fully booked so we expect to endure three hours of natural cooling in the third class carriage tomorrow.
Today's ride: 50 km (31 miles)
Total: 2,207 km (1,371 miles)
