Cha Am

Breakfast, delivered to our room, was included in the price for our digs. Prawn fried rice, crab sandwiches, grapefruit and fruit juice.

Today was a short hop down to Cha Am, a well known resort town which we have passed by a number of times but never visited.

We were on the 2021 for most of the way. It has, if I remember correctly, a cycle path along its entire length.

This is seafood country and the lingering aroma of stale fish never allows one to forget it.

We entered Cha Am away from the 2021 and made use of this pedestrian bridge to cross the canal at the harbour.

The fishing harbour at Cha Am.

Just south of the harbour is this rather odd statue in the grounds of a monastery. See no evil, hear no evil, do no evil ?

Cha Am is a bit of a disappointment.  I can't help feeling there are too many friendly young women hoping to make lonely older European men's lives less lonely.  While we were having lunch we could hear what sounded like a short term relationship being established.

We were intending to spend the last couple of weeks taking it slow and relaxing on the beaches along the peninsula and Cha Am was one of the places we were planning to spend a few nights.

We've now made other plans and will head down to south of Hua Hin tomorrow for a few nights in Sam Roi Yot before heading up to Kaeng Krachan National Park.

Today's ride: 33 km (20 miles)
Total: 2,373 km (1,474 miles)
