A thoroughly unremarkable day, so much so that no photos were taken by either myself or Leigh.  All we wanted to do today was to get to the outskirts of Hà Nội so that we can have a less hectic start to our first day of cycling.  This was quite easily achieved despite us using major roads to get us to the edge of the city.  

Leigh had found a hotel in the area that,  despite also servicing the hourly trade, is also apparently family friendly.   Very little English is spoken away from the tourist areas so Google Translate has been hard at work, both for checking in (We want the room for the whole night - Chúng tôi muốn có phòng cho cả đêm) as well as for ordering food at a local joint a few hundred  meters away.

Tomorrow we plan to ride to Phủ Lý about fifty kilometers south of Hà Nội.
