Good to be Home, one full day later!
We followed the Lochside back up east side the Peninsula today, before striking out to the west and to the ferry dock. Strangely the trail seemed to host mostly runners this Sunday morning. Generally we have seen that runners are faster than us, at least for distances up to 10 km. We hold them in a lot of respect. I am still wearing some tee shirts picked up after some of our own 10 km races. It's unnerving to think that those bits of clothing are over 20 years old (and still being worn).
One runner stopped (and stopped us) to ask about our bikes. She also noticed the "Camino" sticker on Dodie's handlebar bag. She herself had walked from St Jean Pied de Port, in 2010. I was proud to display the tee shirt I happened to be wearing, this one only two years old:

We carried on, through the quiet roads in the centre of the Peninsula, spotting the occasional deer that must plague the local gardeners. At the western edge we passed near the famed Butchart Gardens, a really worthwhile tourist attraction that we have not visited in some years. They had some example flowers and lawn by the road, and yes it is all really beuatiful. But, maybe next time. For today we had somehow had enough touring, and after just 32 kms were happy enough to return home for a nap!
Today's ride: 32 km (20 miles)
Total: 112 km (70 miles)
