Rome, IT

The big surprise for me was the size of the Baths of Caracalla.

I started at the Vatican Museums. When I visited the other places, there were some references to artifacts in them. So I guess it's better to end at the end there. Having said that, visitors can save a lot of queue time by booking their Vatican visit a week in advance.

This gallery of maps in the Vatican was commissioned in 1581. A time when Australia didn't exist and the Sun revolved around the Earth.

Did the Vatican really bother with a second water distribution system for undrinkable water ?

Bill ShaneyfeltLooks like they are really putting some work into refurbishing it. Lots of stuff we didn't see back when we visited (to go to our daughter's college graduation at John Cabot University... 2006?).
