Rode out of Eureka through Old Town and along the waterfront. Nice flat riding for the most part about 15 miles to the little town of Loleta where I found a hidden gem called the Loleta Cheese Factory. Nondescript on the outside but a little coffee shop with absolutely beautiful garden seating. They also sell a well known brand of cheese called Loleta cheese.I could have sat there all day but moved on down 101 to Rio Dell for a break to watch a little football at Mingo's bar. The last 15 miles on the Avenue of the Giants was amazing. It is 32 miles of redwoods. I'll do the last 17 first thing tomorrow. The size and majesty of these trees is awe inspiring. The ride is dark through lush green forests. The trees many times form a complete canopy over the road. The ride end at Humboldt Redwoods State Park camping among the redwoods. Pretty cool.
Today's ride: 51 miles (82 km)
Total: 841 miles (1,353 km)
