Winthrop, the old west

So a short 10 mile ride to Winthrop and Methow Cycle.  Left my bike about 10AM and it will be ready in the morning.  Got a room at a great family owned hotel right on the Methow River. Winthrop is a unique little town built to look feel like an old west town. All wooden buildings and boardwalks instead of sidewalks. Finally see the sun and a beautiful day in the 70's. As soon as I crossed over Washington Pass yesterday  the weather and landscape changed dramatically. Now warmer and greener than the western side. So just spent the day hanging out in Winthrop. I still have 3 more passes to get over before things flatten out some but none as tough as Washington Pass.  Tomorrow the goal is over Loup Loup Pass to Okanogan.

Today's ride: 10 miles (16 km)
Total: 277 miles (446 km)

Kelly IniguezWhat did you have done on your bike? I presume it wasn't the brakes - given your Mr. Toad's Wild Descent (great description!).

RICK WATSONTo Kelly IniguezActually my rear brakes weren't really grabbing so that made the descent even more exciting.😀 Also chain was starting to slip so had it replaced.
