I've done a fair amount of riding but today may have been the hardest day ever. From Colonial Creek Campground  to Washington Pass was about 33 miles. The vast majority uphill, some gradual grade and not too bad but others were long and steep and grueling. As I went up there was still snow piles on the side of the road and beautiful snow capped mountains. This section of the North Cascades Scenic Highway is only open from about May to November due to snow. The first 5-6 miles of the descent was a little harrowing as well.  Steep with hairpin turns, a bit of Mr. Toads Wild Ride going down.  Exhausting day but amazing scenery. Short day tomorrow as I have a few things to be done on my bike at the only bike shop within 100 miles in Winthrop.

Today's ride: 57 miles (92 km)
Total: 267 miles (430 km)
