It was long haul out of Republic to the top of Sherman Pass. At 5575 feet above sea level it's the highest driveable pass in Washington.  Also was cold at the top today. Was in the low 50's when I left Republic but probably 40 at the top. 12 mile descent where I never pedaled the bike, just wore out the break pads to keep the speed in check and keep the bike on the road. Arrived in Kettle Falls and crossed the mighty Columbia river on an old 2 lane bridge with no bike lane, shoulder or sidewalk so I just took the middle of the lane. Then a few more miles on to Colville for the night. Have to see how I feel tomorrow,  might need a shorter day after two very hard climbing days.

Today's ride: 57 miles (92 km)
Total: 453 miles (729 km)
