Rawlins to Riverside

Not a scenic photo but interesting. The picture of the Sinclair Oil Refinery only captures a fraction of the size of the facility.

I don't have anything to compare it to but they produce 85,000 barrels a day which sounds like a lot.

Salt pond. Kinda like Bonneville Salt Flats I guess.

Odd sight just outside the little town of Saratoga.

5 full days of riding in Wyoming and it has been windy every day. 20-25 mph winds with gusts of 35-40. Of course when it's a tailwind it's awesome, when it's a headwind you feel like you're riding in quicksand. The hardest is a heavy crosswind because you're just try to keep the bike upright when a gust hits. Stopped in Saratoga for lunch. A cute little town that has some hot springs so they have tourist activity from that and the nearby Snowy Mountains. Heading to Walden Colorado tomorrow. The first 7 miles today were to the town of Sinclair. I didn't think much of the name until I rode past the absolutely massive Sinclair Oil Refinery hence the town name. The entire facility had to be a mile long and a quarter mile deep. And hundreds of railroad oil cars lined up across the street. Also got on Interstate 80 in Sinclair for 13 miles. Actually quite safe because the shoulder is 8-10 feet wide. Wyoming roads have been terrific to ride on, smooth shoulders that are normally 4-8 wide.

Today's ride: 61 miles (98 km)
Total: 1,534 miles (2,469 km)
