This is a beautiful part of the country but I have been here in Washington for almost a week and it has either rained or looked like rain every day. Today was 54 miles in a drizzling rain with occasional harder bursts. There also has been very little sun and temperatures usually in the 50's. The good is 54 miles and felt pretty good. The riding today was still through the Skagit valley so pretty flat with a few hills and also along the Skagit river which was nice. At least had the foresight to have indoor lodging tonight. Rode 3 consecutive small towns today named Concrete, Rockport and staying tonight in Marblemount. Sense a theme? At the beginning of town in Concrete there is a huge 40 or 50 foot high concrete structure that seems to have no purpose but in big bold letters it says Welcome to Concrete. If it hadn't been pouring at the time I would have gotten a picture. A huge climb over Washington Pass is looming so a short 25 mile day tomorrow then 50 or so the next day over the pass. I had to break it into two days because places to stay are sparse and didn't want to attempt a 75 mile day over the pass.

Today's ride: 54 miles (87 km)
Total: 183 miles (295 km)
