3rd mountain pass today

Left Tonasket this morning after a stop for breakfast at Natural Foods co-op cafe. Immediately started the climb to Wauconda Pass, the 3rd of 4 major passes in 6 days. Long gradual climb but not too bad. Then the usual hairy descent with 5-6% grade. Wearing out my brake pads! Warmshowers is a site for bicyclists that matches riders with wonderful people that open their homes. Tonight I spent the night with a great couple in Republic, Boyd and DiAnne Hewitt. She fixed a great meal of Indian chicken, rice and broccoli. Healthy and delicious! After a few nights camping a real bed and hot shower are heavenly. Last big climb for a few days tomorrow.
