Ride Route Summary: Town List
This is the route we followed. Towns in BOLD CAPS were night stay overs in pubs, cabins or motels.
We cycled every day, and were usually finished the day's ride by lunchtime or early afternoon. Start times ranged from 6am to 8am.
On the first few days, punctures slowed us down slightly. The weather was almost perfect for the entire ride. The south to north direction is into the prevailing winds which tend to come from the north-west from mid-morning.
I'd highly recommend this ride as a spring or autumn tour. In summer, temperatures can get very hot...40 degrees C plus.
Winter would be OK though somewhat frosty.
