Montbozon to Vesoul
We love those greenways.
The skies are clearing and there’s a hint of warmth in the air. We have yoghurt and meusli en plein air and load up our bikes. There is a beloved greenway somewhere just beyond the town, but strangely we’ve seen no signage for it yet.
Once on the road we climb up through the town and are well on the way when I spot the path down to our left. There’s no signage at all until we get down to it. We think it my have started earlier, somewhere- but where?
Anyway, it’s a beautiful chemin vert. Sealed, flat, and running through beautiful countryside.
Vesoul comes up fairly quickly and we stop for coffee. It’s a tidy looking town, around the centre anyway.
The lake is a couple of kilometres out of town and at the campground Ann recklessly (with some persuasion,) decides we should try one of their bivouacs. It’s quite comfortable and importantly - it has power. We dine on the deck, but it’s rather chilly. We are not tempted to swim in le lac, by temperature or by appearance .
As we are drifting off, the pre 14 July fireworks start, both at the sports area near the lake, and later from Vesoul.
Today's ride: 31 km (19 miles)
Total: 758 km (471 miles)
