Our exercise is a walk around the city, taking in the Rue Catherine and its shops, the wide open space by les Jardins, and the Quais where some tall ships are berthed. A Fete de Vin starts tomorrow, and the ships are part of the celebration. Unfortunately we will miss the fireworks and hope the current showers clear for the event.

The Quai has restricted access, but the prospect of the tall masts, the wide river and distant bridges conjure images of the golden days of trading in this port. ( Golden if you were not a slave).
We pass through the Place de la Bourse, a magnificent mid 18th century building that is now reflected in the Miroir d'eau, (a flat area of water on the square in front ).
Back through the Porte de Bourgogne , one of four ancient gates in the city, past the Middle Eastern shops.
Rest and reading in the intense evening sun, dinner on the terrace and preparation for our next run.
