Church Stretton
Blue hills remembered
Morning drive to Church Stretton. Climb the hill behind the town coming down through the National Trust reserve which is popular with walkers. The town below nestles in a leafy green, tiled roofed houses blend, a charming view. In the distance, “The blue hills remembered”.

Back at Rock Mil by mid afternoon as Dominic arrives from London. Lunch el fresco. Our late afternoon activity is a cycle and walk to Dolforwyn Castle, a border defence that fell to the English in 1277. Panoramic view of surrounding valleys in the wan evening light accompanied by the sound of sheep’s bleating.
