Cahaix to Lac Guerledan.
We find the Brest- Nantes Canal.
After a French breakfast of croissants coffee and baguette (missing the muesli) it’s straight downhill to meet the canal.

What a dream to cycle on – hard flat surface, some sealed, kilometre after kilometre of easy riding. The trail forms a tunnel of green in many places and the roaring of water from many races fills the air.
Lac Guerledan welcomes us towards evening. This is an artificial lac formed for hydroelectric generation. Strangely, the lac is drained every 15 years or so and the drowned villages revealed are a tourist attraction. Staying at local Relais.
The bar echoing to supporting World Cup cheers for France as it beats Albania. We eat a pleasant buffet meal in the hotel’s restaurant and go for a short walk before an early night.
Today's ride: 55 km (34 miles)
Total: 238 km (148 miles)
