Blois to Orleans.
We arrive in Orleans, city of St Joan.
After a latte and croissant at our Blois hotel cafe, we cross the river and start the trail.

The route is easy and keeping to 20kph+ is no problem. The river continues with its ever hopeful pecheurs along the banks and its sandbars of golden orange. The occasional watercraft livens the view- long flat bottomed craft with boxy cabins some with sails.
We lunch at Beaugency and continued on through the outlying suburbs that have beautiful gardens running down to the water. Gaining the inner city is pretty straightforward and stress free and we cycle alongside the tram tracks until we find Apartment Odalys, a surprisingly modern block in behind the more traditional facade.
Orleans gives the impression of being a little tired but there is still plenty happening and enough to make it an interesting city to walk about and easy for cycles.
The teapot and the shower are a welcome reward for a day’s pedaling .
Today's ride: 64 km (40 miles)
Total: 886 km (550 miles)
