Rain Returns to Piran and We Have a Fish Dish.A splendid breakfast and then an attempt to cycle to the salt works beyond Portoroz. Unfortunately, the rain increases its intensity so we return to Second Life for lunch.
By afternoon there’s an improvement so we head into Piran and buy our tickets for tomorrow’s ferry ride to Trieste. We take a walk up the hill behind the town to the castle and catch a view of Italy’s coast all the way south to Grado.

Later, we head for a cycle shop in order to have Ann’s carrier repaired. The young chap tries his best but I’m concerned that in trying to straighten it, the metal will fracture. It cracks but not completely. He replaces the carrier and adds another nylon tie to the ones I have used. It seems fairly secure but we will have to watch it for the remaining kilometres we have to do.
We dine out on locally caught fish at a nearby restaurant and walk ‘home’ in the dark.
