Zen

A moment of serenity

CLOSE your eyes.  Breathe gently and slowly.  In, hold for a moment, out.  Repeat.

Relax your shoulders.

Tilt your head back then slowly circle it around, first one way then the other.

Visualize yourself in the grounds of a Japanese pagoda, far from the busy, frenetic urban life.  It is calm, quiet, tranquil.  Life moves slowly here, and time seems to have little meaning.

Perhaps you're in a place like this...

You find yourself strolling slowly through a magnificent, carefully tended, immaculately designed Japanese garden.

... you encounter a pond.

You see the reflection of the trees and sky in the mirror-like surface.  A koi swims slowly and languidly past, seemingly just beneath the surface yet making no ripples to disturb it.

A seemingly ageless stone lantern stands as a mute sentry next to a gorgeous Japanese maple.

Passing the maple, you encounter and climb a set of gently-pitched stone steps.

The steps lead you to a Zen garden, which invites you to pause, reflect, and contemplate.
