We slept in this morning, and with no alarm and the dark, cozy basement, Jeff stayed in bed until 9:00 and then worked on pictures and the journal again while we waited for the call that his mirror had arrived. Except that it hadn't. We didn't mind having the extra day, though, and worked on the bikes—tightening both kickstands, lubing the chains, adjusting my rack, washing gravel dust off both bikes and making small adjustments here and there. As we were working on the bikes, our friends Michael and Tammy got back from their trip, and we had a great evening of food and conversation—well worth staying an extra day for even if the mirror didn't get there. Thanks again, friends, for opening your home to us and letting us soak up your air conditioning, use your laundry, read your books, and drink your beer. We really appreciate it!
