Day 99 Buenos Aires: La Boca
The morning is again for errands (pharmacy, emails), but in the afternoon we walk to La Bocca, a suburb (barrio) to the east of San Telmo. We walk past the stadium Maradona used to play and are able to go in for a look. It's small and built closely to the field. The grass is very green.

La Boca is the area Italian immigrants arrived at. The harbor is still there but extremely polluted. Shipwrecks are rotting in the mud, the water bubbles, dead fish and bottles float on the water. Our guide says it would be easier to make diesel out of this water than to clean it up.
After a short stroll along the harbor wo see the famous steel draw bridge we walk through Sarmeirto, the colorful picturesque street with its houses painted in yellow, green, blue looking very bright!
We take a taxi back to San Telmo and eat at the neighborhood parrilla. Only $2 for a liter of beer here!
