Day 20 Puesco: view of Volcano Lanin
Camp at restaurant
It rains and storms during the night. When we rise in the morning, a thick drizzle is still falling. It is hard to be motivated to tear down the cozy warm tent.
Packing up it's possible to keep the sleeping bags and thermarests dry, but the pack the tent, things start to get wet. We will need some sun today to dry out before we can pitch it again.
After about 20km, when we reach Curarrehue, the sun is shining, and we are able to dry the tent and gear in the city park while we eat lunch. Just past the town the asphalt stops, we continue on a dirt road with coarse gravel. We have beautiful views of mountains and Volcano Lanin.

Some very steep sections we walk and push the bikes. Just before Puesco, we call it a day at a small restaurant with some cabanas for rent. For 3000 pesos we pitch our tent next to an abandoned antique tractor. We can take hot showers in the house.
A beautiful spot, next to a raging river, snow capped peak to the East. We cook rice with mussels and mushroom soup.
Today's ride: 57 km (35 miles)
Total: 877 km (545 miles)
