Day 108 Termas de Guaviyu: touristy hot springs
At 6:30am we roll our loaded bikes through the lobby and onto the sidewalk. Before we leave, we have coffee and pastries. We leave the city the same way we came in, take the long ramp and continue onto Highway 3. Just before the junction to the bridge to Argentina, a car stops and asks us for directions. He is indeed headed in the wrong direction,
Today we go as far as the Termas de Guaviyu about 60km. It's very hot again, but we seem to have more energy than yesterday. The Termas are a series of warm water pools with an enormous campground with +/- 1000 spaces. Fortunately, mostly empty and a little village of restaurants, motel and shops.
We get there in the afternoon, eat our ice cream, drink a cold bottle of water and relax in a shady spot we selected for our tent. Later in the afternoon we have lunch at a restaurant and sit at the pool. The warm water is not so refreshing when in it, but the evaporation of the water cools us off nicely when we get out. We plan to take a rest day here tomorrow. So tonight, we might eat late like the locals and go for a midnight swim.
But as we get into our tent for a short rest and read at about 8pm we both fall asleep and not wake until next morning. We just don't fit in, the rhythm of bike touring is so different
Today's ride: 60 km (37 miles)
Total: 3,585 km (2,226 miles)
