To Nakuru: short day, get to town early, arrange safari
"Things have changed. By now we would have a dozen offers about a tour of Nakuru." Rachel says.
We arrived in Nakuru before noon. We had taken our time and stopped for coffee and fresh fruit salad at a matatu rest stop. We ride through chaos of cars, matatus, motorized taxi, motorcycles, to the Carnation Hotel. Very basic, but as we still find in Africa, clean. The hotel is on Mosque Street, and we are hearing the call to prayer.
As we walk the streets of Nakuru to find a tour company, we are amazed how difficult this might be. Noone has approached us asking if we are looking for a tour! We finally find a tour company and we are set to go into the national park tomorrow to see the rhinos.
There is another afternoon thunderstorm. The motorcycles now ride around with umbrellas.
